Mixed Media On Aluminium Kettle by Manasa Priya Yedla

Hey there, Manasa here and I am on Connect4Sale blog today with an altered decor project. So, this was an Aluminium kettle that I got from Connect4sale in the size approximately 5″ for a very great deal.

Aluminium Kettle

So I thought of decoupaging initially, but the moment I saw this treasure. It stroll a vintage string in me. So I thought maybe, I will makeover into a copper finish.

I gessoed the entire surface in black using the Black Gesso from Expressions Craft. Then I added some chippies and metal embellishments and flowers randomly from Papericious and Expressions Craft which are available with Comnect4Sale.

Now in order to bring them into a single tone of colors, I gessoed in black over everything. This helps us to get the base of the vintage look. Make sure no corners are left off. The final step is to highlight everywhere with a metallic paint which brings in the shine and for the light to hit to give it a copper finish.

That’s about this very simple alter, yet very vintage looking kettle. I hope you enjoyed looking into it. Please let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
Until next time…
