We are happy to be presenting this month a Mixed Media Key Holder project by Ms. Anamika Sarkar where she has used and combined several materials and mediums to get the effect. Please read and follow her step by step process in the following tutorial
Hi there everyone. ….once again I bring another simple mixed media project . I have taken up the theme of love as but in a totally different background….Egypt. Yes I have used an Egyptian theme. So lets get started….
Here I have taken MDF base with love carved on it. The paper I have chosen is Calambour rice paper. Both the Love Key Chain Organizer MDF base and Egyptian Theme Calambour Rice Paper are from Connect4Sale. The paper is of awesome quality acid and lignin free. It’s quite thick so you don’t have to gesso your surface. It comes in A3 size with various Egyptian elements to choose from.
I covered my base in gold colour as I plan to give it a crackle effect. Once dry I coated it with one step crackle medium and left to dry overnight.
Next I cut the desired element from the paper and pasted it on a card stock as I plan to give it an elevated and dimensional look. I pasted it on the card stock and then cut it in a desired shape.
I then applied black gesso on the base . This gives my project a crackled look. In the meantime, I gathered various embellishments that I wanted to put on my project
I pasted my elements on the base. Once I was satisfied with the look after a dry run……my ultimate project looks like this.
